| ***Message from webmaster Monday, January 2, 2012@12:34 PM*** 2012 Message test ***Message from Linda Tuesday, October 4, 2011@7:50 PM*** Presentation evening 2011 This year's presentation will be on Saturday 12th November at Hollins Hey Hotel, tickets will be £20 and letters will be sent out very soon. Please make every effort to attend, we usually have a fun night and have a special guest of honour again this year. Please return any trophies to myself or Tim as soon as possible. Thanks Linda ***Message from Linda Sunday, September 11, 2011@9:06 PM*** We will be going indoors on Wednesday 21st September, then Sundays starting 2nd October. Wednesdays will be from 8-10pm and Sundays 10am-12pm. Cost will depend on how many are shooting and can be paid in a two ways. A pre and post Christmas full amount , which will be a slightly reduced sessional rate, or as pay as you go £3 a session. For those of you who haven't shot indoors before, space is a bit cramped. We only have 6 targets, theoretically on 24 shooting spaces. To make life easier we set up our own equipment from about 7.30 onwards in the foyer, then all hands on to setting up targets. We need to start as soon as we can after 8, so that we can get a round shot before finishing shooting about 9.50 as we need to be out of building by 10pm. It sounds a bit regimented, but it works. We need to keep to a strict whistle and good timing on ends, Sundays are a bit more relaxed and generally better suited for juniors, although they are welcome on Wednesdays. Sundays also better for any coaching and advice. Let me know what session, or both, you will be attending. So that I can work out cost and let you know soon. Anything else you need to know please ask Linda ***Message from linda Tuesday, July 5, 2011@8:50 PM*** Wednesday night's fun shoot will be postponed until an evening when it's less likely to rain! Linda ***Message from Linda Tuesday, June 21, 2011@8:47 PM*** Some members of the county coaching team will be visiting on Monday 4th and 11th July. Coaching is available for all Wirral Archers members. Please let me know if you're interested, so I can give rough numbers. Thanks Linda ***Message from Linda Wednesday, June 8, 2011@2:47 PM*** Thanks!! Thanks to those usual suspects and two members of beginners class who turned up to help on Sunday. Although entries were low I think all longbow archers enjoyed themselves and we certainly made an impression on our new hosts. Linda ***Message from Linda Thursday, June 2, 2011@7:02 PM*** Help Needed!! Wirral Archers annual longbow tournament is this Sunday 5th June. You'll be delighted to know you missed out on some very yummy soup and rolls, and some very yummy cake (or at least that's what Corus' youngest member indicated with her repeated visits - good for you kid!). Due to the poor weather (honestly, it was dry when we started!), the Western round was abandoned after 4 dozen. Looking at the weather writing this, a good decision. However, after auditing the scoresheets, Corus won with an average score of 309.70 against Wirral's 307.75. It's to enable committee members who have an internet connection to add information to the website via software I'm developing. It can be used to tell members of 'happenings' at away shoots, or of events up and comming without having to go through me. Normal notices of club events will still be on the 'Notices' page. I'm also working on a similar software that allows the Records Officer to update the club records and classification/handicap web pages. I don't know how long it will take to finish it, but I've started. The basics are in place so it shouldn't take too long to develop. Once the software has been tested, I will give copies of the software and individual passwords to committee members who wish to use it. |
